An uplifting diversion...

Hello all!

I recently finished building a model of a 250 Ton Bucyrus-Erie steam crane, and was able to take a quick test video on the weekend out on the layout. It\'s a Galline kit...with modifications to make it fully operational.



Sorry, I know it\'s not Swiss...but...I did need something to go with my SD40-2(w) diesel.

I started back in June, so and my wife and Michael M will confirm I\'ve been pretty obsessed with it since then.

I know HJ will want me to get back to the Sersa Kirow crane project, and building this one was a good warm-up.

BTW it would be perfect to change out one of the axles on the SD40-2.

Good idea doing an axle fix on the big diesel--once I get some slings made I\'ll give it a try. I haven\'t figured out its weak point yet...but I think the way the winches are geared with all that pulley reduction there would be a bit of a slowdown then a big BOOM!!!, with plastic going everywhere.
