Hello Johan,
What gives you the idea that the 60’s CVs control BEMF? As far as I can tell that is all done by the CV’s in the 50’s. The only CV in the 60’s I needed to adjust was the forward speed trimming as shown earlier.
There was one CV in the 60’s that is hidden/protected I believe but otherwise I haven’t seen any evidence there are more to control the motor.
As far as reading and writing CV’s you should be able to do this with your navigator using the programming track leads from the central station. I have never had an issue reading or programming the Allegra that way. The middle car has to be plugged in to the end unit though as you probably know.

Hi Johan, I just looked them up again:
CV60 - station stop sound adjustment
CV61,62,65 —undocumented
CV63 - total volume
CV64 - brake sound threshold (adjust to 85)
CV66 - forward speed trim (adjust to 85)
CV67 and onward - speed curve
Edit: looking back at an ESU standard, it’s possible that:
CV61 - random sound min duration
CV62 - random sound max duration
CV65 - brake threshold off
If it turns out I can shut off the annoying air compressor sound by setting CV’s 61 & 62 to 0 then I will owe you a nice cold beer!

I just checked the programming on my Allegra and it looks like CV61 & CV62 are already at zero. One minor correction to my CV adjustments—CV64 should be 65 instead of 85.

Keith

Ja schon...aber ich nehme an Johan benutzt eine DCC Zentrale und demzufolge das DCCProtokoll und nicht das mfx Protokoll.
Also beim mfx Decoder müssen zB die CVs 29 und 50 richtig eingestellt sein

Keith - Do you have a more detailed listing of the CV's?
Neither the Allegra 20225 manual nor the decoder manual show CV61 or CV62.

Hello Knut,
Unfortunately those CV’s are reserved as free for each manufacturer to assign as they wish, and so this makes it difficult to know what Maerklin is using them for. The best guess I came up with is from an ESU Manual of about the same era since they were (I think) making the decoders for Maerklin at that time and so match CV’s with a Maerklin default list quite closely. In this case, since the values in the Allegra are 0 I suspect they are not being used.
This ESU manual also provides good descriptions of the various BEMF and motor control CV’s.
